Campbell County Public Library and the Campbell County Historical Society are pleased to welcome Shirley Muñoz Newson to CCPL speak about her book "The Little Dark One: A True Story of Switched at Birth" on Thursday, October 19 at 6pm.
"Imagine feeling like you never belonged or you didn’t know who you really were. That’s exactly what happened to Shirley Muñoz Newson.
"Her life was flipped upside down the day before her 43rd birthday on April 7, 2001.
"The Gillette, Wyoming, woman had just received the DNA test results that would change her life forever. This test answered questions Shirley had wondered about since she was young. Up until this point, Shirley’s life had been a big question mark.
"Everything she thought she knew about herself wasn’t true.
"Shirley would eventually discover she was switched at birth in a Gillette, Wyoming hospital, a story so bizarre and rare in the United States.
