Geocaching 101

Interested in learning a new outdoor activity? Join us for Geocaching 101!

Jaren Long (WesternMoonCacher), local geocaching enthusiast, and Dave Manning (Smile Makers), local geocaching expert with over 6,000 finds and over 400 hides, are teaming up to teach this free class for newcomers of all ages (kids 6th grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult) geocaching basics and everything you need to know to get started.

According to Wikipedia “Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called “geocaches” or “caches,” at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.” The activity is a way to learn about the environment and about the physical geography of the caches region.

Come learn about geocaching and grow the Gillette geocaching community!
