Calling all authors! Edmund Pickett is an author and editor with Reedsy, a marketplace that connects authors with the publishing industry (reedsy.com/edmund-pickett) and CCPL is excited to welcome him back to teach another free hands-on editing workshop!

SUBMIT YOUR MANUSCRIPT! Do you need an editor? Where can you get one? What does it cost? Edmund will answer any questions you may have about the editing process. And if you apply soon, he’ll edit a sample of your writing at the workshop. Prepare a ten page sample in MSWord format (.doc or .docx) and submit it to genevieve@ccpls.org. The first four samples received will be edited during the session. No author names will be used. Your work will be discussed as “Author #1,” etc. Submission deadline is August 1, 2023.

Editing your own work is a difficult but essential task for every writer. Attend this workshop and learn to polish your prose and make your plot more suspenseful, as well as use proofreading strategies to eliminate grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors.

Reedsy was founded in 2014 and since then has built a community of over 1 million authors and 2,500 freelance professionals — helping them bring more than 15,000 books to market each year. Through Reedsy, Edmund Pickett has worked with nearly 150 authors since 2017, helping them develop plot, characters, setting, continuity, and pacing. Don’t miss this opportunity to polish your skills!
