Campbell County Public Library, in partnership with The Pumpkin Buttes Chapter of the Wyoming Archaeological Society, is pleased to welcome Dr. Steven P. Howard, PhD, Director of Archaeology & Anthropology, Eastern Wyoming College on Thursday, November 20 at 6pm. Learn how ongoing digs at Sunrise are helping to rewrite the history of early human settlement in North America.

Join us for a fascinating evening with Dr. Howard, as he discusses his current research at Sunrise, WY. His latest findings include exciting updates from the Powars II Site and John Voight Site. Dr. Howard will also share insights from the 2025 EWC Archaeological Field School and provide an overview of the college’s growing Archaeology and Anthropology Program.

With nearly 20 years of teaching experience and fieldwork spanning Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Ohio, New York, and even the UK, Dr. Howard brings a wealth of knowledge and stories from the field.
