Campbell County Public Library is celebrating all there is to love about your library today as we wrap up "Love My Library" National Library Week!

Local artist Dara Corkery is teaching this beginner watercolor class at CCPL on April 13, 9:30am. It's free and all supplies are provided thanks to The Library Foundation Inc.

Dara's class comprises a short overview of the class materials and some practice strokes with a round brush. Students will paint a simple lemon done wet on wet with a background and shadow. The hope is to convey an alla prima approach to watercolor done with a limited palette in a Tetrad color scheme. No drawing skills needed; an image of the lemon will be available as well as tracing materials.

The technique Dara is teaching is how artist Charles Reid painted oils and watercolors. Two of Ried's paintings are owned by The Library Foundation and are displayed at your Campbell County Libraries. An oil, “Lauren,” hangs at Wright Branch Library and the watercolor “Stetson” at Campbell County Public Library.

Class size is limited; sign up today!
